About Scott McPherson
Scott McPherson was born in St. Peterburg, FL in 1964, and has lived in New Port Richey his enire life (with the exception of being off to college).
Following High School, Scott decided to first become an EMT, and then a Paramedic. His first job in the medical field was 1983, when he worked at Bayonet Point Emergency Room. A short while later, in 1984, Scott accepted a position with Pasco County Fire-Rescue, and finished his Paramedic and Firefighting Training. Scott was then placed in charge of one of Pasco County's busiest stations, and was one of the first Paramedics in the county to be appointed an officer in the Fire Service.
While an undergrad in college, Scott decided to go to law school, which he did after working for 7 years in the Fire Service. Upon returning from law school, Scott decided that he would focus on personal injury law, as his experience as a paramedic/firefighter made him especially well suited for representing injured persons.
Scott has won numerous community awards, and volunteers countless hours to make Pasco County a better place. Below is a list of some of his awards from both his days in Emergency Medical Services, and now as an Attorney who volunteers in the community:
1983-1989: Numerous letters of accomodation from persons treated by Scott as a Paramedic.
1985: Certificate of Appreciation and Recognition; Governor Bob Graham, for Performance Beyond the Call of Duty (awarded for working three days straight without rest during Hurricane Elena);
1985: Certification of Appreciation for Working Beyond the Call of Duty, Pasco County Board of County Commissioners (also due to work during Elena);
1986: Made one of Pasco County Fire Rescue's First Paramedic Officers (up to that time, officers were only those who rode the engines....Scott was one of the first to work the medical side to be made an officer).
1995: Scott graduates law school, returns to Pasco County to practice law.
1995 - current (Community Positions and awards):
New Port Richey Rotary Club: Rookie of the Year.
New Port Richey Rotary Club: 2005 Rotarian of the Year.
Secretary: West Pasco Chamber of Commerce.
Board of Directors: West Pasco Chamber of Commerce.
Board of Directors: New Port Richey Rotary Club.
Certificate of Appreciation from American Bar Association (Scott volunteers to help families who are victims of 9/11, and collects millions without charging a fee).
2001 - 2006: Chairman of the Chasco Fiesta Boat Parade
